In a letter to New York City voters, Comedian Judy Gold went political as she announced her support for Christine Quinn in the New York City Mayor?s race. She also got in a few good cracks at some other politiciams? and the Kardashians.
These last few weeks have been a comedy writer?s dream come true, all thanks to a few candidates running for office in New York.
You can?t make this stuff up. In the course of the last few weeks, two scandal tarred politicians have?jumped into city-wide races?and formed what the New York Times called the Kardashian Ticket (no offense Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and North West).
I love reality television (hey, it?s one of the only things that makes me feel better about myself), but the fact is, the job of Mayor of New York is serious business. And while a few politicians in the race will continue to provide myself and other comedians with new material ? and by the way, my mother is thrilled, along with my kids, my partner and my ex ? as much as we all love a good laugh, those candidates are not going to do much to help middle class New Yorkers get by.
Thankfully there is one serious candidate in the race who is ready to lead New York and has a record of providing real results for real New Yorkers like you and me. Really.
I?m a strong supporter of Christine Quinn because she doesn?t just talk about helping middle class New Yorkers, she actually has an impressive record of delivering for middle class New Yorkers. And while she has a great sense of humor, she understands running for mayor is no joke.
Join me in supporting Christine Quinn, because if there is one thing i?m serious about, it?s the issues that matter most to the future of our city.
